After hoping and wishing, and doing PT for far too long, I finally conceded that my shoulder needed surgery if I was going to get my life, as I know it and live it, back. I talked to a few surgeons, but Dr. Jurek was the only one who really understood that I needed and should get back to the things that I love. Where other doctors were like "so, just don't do overhead squats," she understood that for me, that's how I keep myself balanced.
She listened intently, asked good questions about both my past and my future, and came up with a plan that got me back to the gym, and better than before.
I always felt like I was in charge of my own care, respected and understood everything that we were going to do.
I loved working with her so much that I've sent several clients, and my own daughter to her. That's how much I trust her.
I should probably tell you exactly what she did, but the truth is, it was complicated and I don't remember the details beyond going in for rotator cuff repair, and her saying "Ya, it was a mess in there" when it was over. All I know, or care, is that my shoulder is stronger than ever and I was back at it quickly.
